In the past few days we’ve slowly gotten more and more details and info about the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.3 update. We’ve gotten two confirmed new characters with Arataki Itto and the anticipated Gorou. Although Itto’s release was leaked, there have been hints throughout the game leading to the hope of Gorou being a playable character.
With the Genshin 2.2 update coming out on the 13th of October, people are already beginning to wonder what’s next. There have been a few leaks here and there, but apart from Itto and Gorou, nothing concrete.
Many players have been desperate for Albedo and Ganyu re-reruns. Both characters had banners during version 1.2. But neither have been seen since, leading to the hope that they might appear in version 2.3.

Arataki Itto
What we know about Itto so far is that he has Geo Vision and wields a Claymore. A few people believe that the Claymore he’s holding in his artwork is part of his Elemental Burst in which he supposedly brandishes a giant Claymore that deals Geo DMG, similarly to Noelle’s Elemental Burst.
It’s been rumoured he’s a 5-star character, although this is yet to be confirmed just yet.
Gorou
Gorou has been an important background character, serving as General of the Watatsumi Army. We already know he is a bow user, from in-game cutscenes. He is also confirmed to be the first Geo Bow Character, leading to the belief he will mainly be a DPS character. Take that with a grain of salt as his official moveset hasn’t been released just yet.
It’s rumored he’s a 5-star character, but similarly to Itto this has not been officially announced.
Genshin Impact 2.3 update release date
Each of the Genshin Impact updates tend to have a 6-week spacing between them. We can expect the new update on the 24th of November.
